1. Data Controller
The data controller is the GoneMail team.
2. Data Collected
GoneMail is designed to minimize data collection. Here is what is processed:
- disposable email addresses: random addresses are generated via the Mail.tm API. No personal data is required for their creation.
- Received messages: messages are temporarily stored on our servers for the mailbox lifetime (maximum 7 days), then automatically deleted.
- Session data: a mailbox identifier is stored locally in your browser (localStorage) to maintain your session. This data never leaves your device.
- Technical logs: server logs may contain IP addresses for security and rate limiting purposes. These logs are deleted after 30 days.
3. Data We Do NOT Collect
- Name, first name, or any personal identifier
- Postal address
- Phone number
- Payment information
- Advertising tracking cookies
- Browsing data (beyond technical logs)
4. Purpose of Processing
Data is processed only for:
- Providing the temporary mailbox service
- Service security and rate limiting
- Proper technical functioning of the application
5. Legal Basis
Processing is based on legitimate interest (Article 6.1.f of GDPR) to provide a secure temporary messaging service. No consent is required as no identifiable personal data is collected.
6. Data Retention
- Mailboxes: automatically deleted after expiration (1h to 7 days max)
- Messages: permanently deleted after 7 days maximum
- Server logs: deleted after 30 days
- localStorage data: deleted when the browser is closed or by the user
7. Data Sharing
GoneMail does not sell, rent, or share any data with third parties for commercial purposes.
The only technical partners are:
- Mail.tm: third-party API used for mailbox creation (technical processing)
- Hostinger: site hosting (technical processing)
8. Security
GoneMail implements the following technical measures:
- TLS/HTTPS encryption for all communications
- Automatic data purge after expiration
- No personal data collection
- Rate limiting to prevent abuse
9. Your Rights (GDPR)
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the following rights:
- Right of access (Article 15)
- Right to rectification (Article 16)
- Right to erasure (Article 17)
- Right to data portability (Article 20)
Since we collect no identifiable personal data, these rights are primarily exercised by manually deleting your mailbox via the interface.
10. Cookies & Local Storage
GoneMail uses no tracking or advertising cookies. The only data stored in your browser is the random session identifier of your temporary mailbox, kept in the browser's localStorage.
This identifier is generated locally, never leaves your browser, and is never sent to our servers or used to identify you. It is not personal data, it is not a cookie, and you can delete it at any time by clearing your browser data or generating a new temporary address.
11. Changes
This privacy policy may be updated at any time. The last modification date is indicated at the bottom of this page.

13. Advertising
GoneMail is a free service financed by advertising. Third-party advertising vendors, including Google AdSense, may use cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.
You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings (https://www.google.com/settings/ads). You can also visit www.aboutads.info to learn more about interest-based advertising and opt out of third-party vendors.
